Additional Closing Information
Cape Girardeau Public Schools will be closed from Wednesday, March 18 to April 3. The school board announced they will continue to provide meals for free to any child age 18 or under at the five elementary schools, Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. This includes Alma Schrader Elementary, Blanchard Elementary, Clippard Elementary, Franklin Elementary and Jefferson Elementary.
All school activities will be canceled during this time.
Scott City R-I School District will be closed starting on Tuesday, March 17 through at least Friday, April 3.
Perry County School District 32 will close all schools from March 18-April 3 This affects all school programming, including before and after school activities, all athletic and extracurricular practices and competitions, and all weekend events. There will be no access to campus buildings until classes resume, with the exception of staff tasked with sanitizing the schools. At this time, they anticipate that they will return to class on Monday, April 6.
In order to promote instructional equity for all of the students, they will not be offering online instruction. However, the schools will share enrichment opportunities through the district website and social media sites.
Jackson R-2 School district has closed school from Tuesday, March 17 through Friday, April 3. For the remainder of this week, March 17-20, there will be no school events or sports practices.
