Cape Riverfront Market to Return to Walk-Up Format at Century Casino on Saturday, May 16
CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO. – The Cape Riverfront Market will return to a walk-up format on Saturday, May 16, and will continue to take place at the Century Casino, located at 777 Main Street.
The Cape Riverfront Market opened for the season on Saturday, May 2, as a drive-through only event, and saw a tremendous outpouring of support from the Cape Girardeau community. After maintaining a drive-through format for two weeks, the Cape Riverfront Market was given clearance from the Cape Girardeau Health Department to return to a walk-up setting for their event, being that safe social distancing and sanitation practices are implemented.
Emily Vines, Cape Riverfront Market Manager stated, “We are pleased to be able to return to a traditional, walk-up setting for the Cape Riverfront Market event, and to be able to continue facilitating the market as an essential service to the community during this time. Although the event will be returning to a walking-based format, customers should anticipate vendors being spaced at least six feet apart, no public seating, music, or demonstrations, and customers may be asked to wash or sanitize their hands in individual vendor stalls before handling any product.”
Customers attending the Cape Riverfront Market are strongly encouraged to wear face masks to the event, and to pre-order the items that they are interested in purchasing prior to Saturday events moving forward. Customers can find vendor contact and product information at http://www.downtowncapegirardeau.com/cape-riverfront-market/, or on the Cape Riverfront Market Facebook page.
The Cape Riverfront Market is sponsored by Southeast Health, American Family Insurance – K. Thompson & Associates LLC., and Broadway Pharmacy. The Bank of Missouri is the Marketeers Day sponsor. The Century Casino Cape Girardeau is generously housing the Cape Riverfront Market while spatial social distancing requirements are being implemented. The Cape Riverfront Market is operated by Old Town Cape, Inc., and takes place each Saturday morning from 8 a.m. – noon.
