We have been working diligently with partner organizations to develop Keep Cape
Strong – a trusted source of information for all things related to our
public health crisis and how it’s affecting Cape Girardeau County. In addition
to general COVID-19 information from the County Health Department, this site
also houses self submitted information about hours, specials, etc. for our
local businesses. If you have information you’d like included on the dining or
shopping pages, please fill out this form. We will continue to update this site as
we gather more information, so visit often.

SBA Disaster Declaration
Good news! The SBA has administratively declared the state of Illinois as an
economic disaster, as well as the following Contiguous Counties of Missouri are
declared – Cape Girardeau, Clark, Jefferson, Lewis, Lincoln, Marion,
Mississippi, Perry, Pike, Ralls, Saint Charles, Saint Louis, Saint Louis City,
Sainte Genevieve, Scott. Please visit the SBA’s website and begin filling out the loan application –
the site will save your progress. If you have any questions about the
application, the SBA can provide assistance. Call 800-659-2955 or email disastercustomerservice@sba.gov.
Families First Coronavirus
Response Act
On March 18, the Senate passed H.R. 6201,
the Families First Coronavirus Response Act. This bill provides, among
other things, provisions to address Paid Sick Leave, Paid Family and Medical
Leave, and Unemployment Insurance for workers displaced by the ongoing
outbreak. Furthermore, it includes provisions to provide diagnostic
testing for coronavirus and bolsters Medicaid and nutrition programs for
